DIRECTOR: SERGIO MIMICA-GEZZAN
LA based for the past 20 years, Mimica-Gezzan was born in Zagreb the son of Croatian film director Vatroslav Mimica and an Italian mother. After getting his feet wet by working with his father, Mimica-Gezzan moved to Los Angeles where he eventually landed a job as first assistant director to Steven Spielberg. That was the beginning of his multi-year association with Spielberg, first as 1st AD on films that Spielberg directed and then as a director of films that Spielberg produced.
Mimica-Gezzan was 1st AD on several top-grossing movies including Saving Private Ryan, Schindler’s List, Catch Me If You Can, Artificial Intelligence, Amistad, The Lost World: Jurassic Park. He shared the DGA directorial awards for both Schindler’s List and Saving Private Ryan with Steven Spielberg.
Television directorial credits include: Heroes, Saving Grace, Battlestar Galactica, Prison Break and Into the West.
